Wedding bands under $200 are not the same rings as the ones a hundred dollars cheaper, and the difference is not simply a nicer version of the same band. On the sellers’ own pages on 20 September 2026, this budget was where titanium appeared at one maker that sells none below $100, where cobalt chrome and real metal inlays showed up, and where solid 14K gold came into reach for the first time, at the narrowest width and only on a sale price. Our overall pick is Groove Life’s beveled titanium ring at under $150. If your ceiling is genuinely a hundred rather than two, start instead with our wedding bands under $100.

The Best Wedding Bands Under $200, Reviewed

Best overall

Groove Ring Titanium 8mm Beveled, Black

by Groove Life

Best for: A wide, light metal band with a proper men's profile, bought once and worn daily.

Groove Life sells no titanium ring at all below $100; titanium is one of the things that only appears once the budget passes that line.

What we like

  • Titanium is the lightest of the four metals on this page for a given width
  • A silicone Alpha ring is included on the listing, so the work ring comes with it
  • Half sizes across the whole range

Keep in mind

  • Black is a finish, and Groove Life treats coating that wears down over time as wear and tear
  • Sizes start at 7, so it does not cover smaller hands
  • The same ring in platinum or gold tone is $199.95, right on the ceiling

The only solid gold under $200

Blue Nile Classic Wedding Ring in 14K White Gold, 2mm

by Blue Nile

Best for: The buyer who wants real precious metal at this budget and will accept the narrowest width to get it.

This ring is under $200 only at the narrowest width and only while the autumn promotion runs: the list price is $280 and the sale price was $196 on the day we read it.

What we like

  • Solid gold, which a jeweler can resize later, unlike every other ring on this page
  • Quarter sizes across the listed range
  • Free resizing in the first year on eligible rings, per the seller

Keep in mind

  • Under $200 only on sale; the list price is $280 and the promotion can end at any time
  • 2mm is slim, and the same design at 3mm was $435 listed on the day we read it
  • Free resizing applies only to rings not previously resized

Best white metal look

Thorsten KOBOLD Domed Cobalt Chrome Ring

by Larson Jewelers

Best for: Someone who wants the look of white gold with no rhodium to replate and no black coating to lose.

Cobalt chrome is naturally white, so the pale color is the metal itself rather than a plating that can wear through.

What we like

  • The listing states the metal is naturally white and hypoallergenic, so no plating maintains the color
  • Three widths at a single price, useful for a matching pair
  • Sizes start at 2.5, the smallest on either of our budget pages

Keep in mind

  • Larson's refund policy states two different return windows on one page
  • Brilliant Earth lists cobalt among the hard metals that may not be fully resizable
  • No cobalt chrome ring appears under $100 in the same collection

Best inlay

Thorsten GEMINI Pipe Cut Tungsten Carbide Ring with Sterling Silver Inlay

by Larson Jewelers

Best for: Two-tone without two-tone plating, for a buyer who wants the second metal to be real rather than a coating.

The inlay is a second, softer metal set into a harder one, so the two halves of the ring age at different rates.

What we like

  • The listing names the inlay as 925 sterling silver and gives its width as 2mm
  • Sizes 4 to 15 in two widths, enough for a matching pair from one listing
  • A solid inlay rather than a plated stripe, so there is no coating to wear off the center

Keep in mind

  • Sterling silver tarnishes and the tungsten around it does not, so the two will not age alike
  • Engraving is excluded from the lifetime sizing cover
  • Tungsten carbide cannot be resized on a bench

Best lightweight band

Northern Royal Carbon Black Ceramic Ring

by Northern Royal

Best for: The lightest ring on this page, for a buyer who wants black that is the material rather than a coating.

Ceramic is colored through the material rather than plated, so on a black ring the color is not a finish that can wear off the surface.

What we like

  • The longest return window on this page at 90 days
  • Free size exchanges for 120 days, which matters on a ring that cannot be resized
  • The black is the ceramic itself, not a plating over a gray metal

Keep in mind

  • Sizes start at 8, the narrowest range on this page
  • The listing does not publish a width in millimeters
  • Ceramic is not resizable, and a size change after 120 days carries a fee the seller states at two different amounts

How We Chose

What the Second Hundred Dollars Adds

The useful question at this budget is not which ring is best but what changes when the ceiling moves from one hundred to two. We counted four things at the sellers we read on 20 September 2026, and none of them is simply a better version of a cheaper ring.

What appears inside this bracketThe evidence we readWhy it matters
Titanium, at makers that sell none below the lineGroove Life lists three titanium rings, from $149.95, and no titanium at all beneath the hundred-dollar lineThe lightest of these metals is a choice only this tier offers at that maker
Cobalt chromeLarson’s cobalt rings run to under $150, a metal absent from most cheaper listingsNaturally white, so no rhodium plating to maintain
Real metal inlays rather than plated stripesLarson’s GEMINI sets a 2mm inlay of 925 sterling silver into tungsten, from $119The second color is a second metal, not a coating over the first
Solid gold, at one width, on saleBlue Nile’s slimmest 14K classic, over $275 listed and under $200 on saleThe only ring here a jeweler can resize

The Selection Is Also More Stable

There is a difference in the stock itself, not only in the rings. In the 92-ring affordable collection we counted at Larson Jewelers, 32 rings start inside this bracket and 7 of those carry the line while supplies last. Below the hundred-dollar line the proportion is 20 out of 25. At this tier roughly one ring in five is being run out; one tier down it is four in five. On a band that cannot be resized, being able to reorder the same ring in another size a month later is worth real money.

What Does Not Change

Hardness does not change, comfort does not change, and neither does the central limitation: no tungsten, ceramic, titanium or cobalt ring on this page can be taken to a bench and made a size larger. The second hundred dollars buys options, a wider shelf and one precious-metal exception. It does not buy the property that makes gold gold.

Solid Gold at the Ceiling: One Width, and Only on Sale

This is the sentence this page exists to get right, because it is the only budget tier where the answer is genuinely borderline.

What We Measured

Blue Nile’s Classic Wedding Ring in 14K white gold, at its narrowest 2mm width, showed a list price over $275 and a sale price just under this page’s ceiling on 20 September 2026, under a named autumn promotion. So the honest answer to whether solid gold exists at this ceiling is yes, on that day, at that width, at that seller, on a promotion. It is not yes as a general statement about the market, and anyone repeating it next month should re-check the number rather than trust this page.

The Width Ladder Closes the Door Again

The same design, the same metal and the same seller climb steeply with width. On 20 September 2026 the listed prices ran from $280 to $1,250 across six widths, more than quadrupling from the slimmest to the widest. In gold, more width is more gold, and the price follows it directly. Most men’s bands are six or eight millimeters wide, which is why a men’s solid gold band does not reach this bracket at any width you would actually choose. For how width reads on a hand, see our guide to men’s wedding band width.

The Property You Are Buying

GIA lists gold as resizable up to two sizes, limits titanium to half a size and says tungsten rings cannot be resized at all. That is the whole case for stretching to the gold band, and it is a case about the next ten years rather than about how the ring looks now. What an adjustment costs once it is no longer free is set out in our guide to ring resizing costs.

Inlay or Plating: Which Finish Survives

Two of the five picks here have a second color on them, and they get it in two completely different ways. At this budget that is the distinction most listings blur and most buyers never see until the ring changes.

A man's hand wearing a plain dark wedding band while holding a mug

An Inlay Is a Second Metal

Larson’s Thorsten GEMINI sets a 2mm inlay of 925 sterling silver into a tungsten carbide band, from $119 in two men’s widths. The silver is solid, and it goes all the way in rather than sitting on the surface. It will tarnish, because sterling silver tarnishes and tungsten does not, so the two parts of the ring will age at different speeds. That is a visible, predictable, cleanable change rather than a loss of material.

A Coating Is a Layer, and It Is Warranted Differently

Groove Life is the clearest seller we read on this, because it publishes both halves of the answer on its warranty page. On metal rings, a coating that is flaking off is treated as a defect and the ring is replaced at no charge with no shipping cost. “Scratching and coating that wears down over time” is treated as wear and tear, and a replacement then costs half the retail price plus shipping. Those are two different outcomes from the same black ring, and the line between them is drawn by the seller.

Ceramic Is Neither

On a black ceramic ring the color is the material. Northern Royal’s Carbon Black ceramic band, from $119, is black through its thickness, so there is no surface layer to lose, and its carbon fibre inlay is set rather than printed. The trade is that ceramic chips rather than scratches, and a chip cannot be polished out. Which sellers state that in their own words, and which put a warranty in place of an answer, is set out on our ceramic wedding bands page. How black finishes behave across all these materials is compared on our black wedding bands page.

Cobalt Chrome: The Metal That Starts Above the Line

Cobalt chrome is the quietest thing this budget unlocks and the one almost nobody searches for by name.

What the Listing Claims

Larson’s Thorsten KOBOLD is a domed, polished, comfort-fit cobalt chrome band from $149, in three widths at a single price, with sizes starting at 2.5. The listing states that cobalt rings are naturally white like white gold and that they are hypoallergenic. The first half of that is the interesting half: white gold is white because of rhodium plating, which wears and is replated, and GIA notes that white gold may need replating every few years. A naturally white metal has no such cycle.

What the Listing Does Not Settle

Hypoallergenic is a word sellers use loosely and it is not a regulated claim about a specific alloy. If skin reaction is the reason you are here rather than the price, the metals with published reasoning behind them are compared on our hypoallergenic wedding bands page, which is where that question belongs rather than in a price bracket.

The Exclusion Printed on the Listing

The KOBOLD listing is unusually frank about its own limit: it states that cobalt chrome rings do not break or crack but can scratch, and that scratching is not covered by the lifetime warranty. Read against Brilliant Earth’s note that rings like tungsten, ceramic or titanium may not be fully resizable because of their hardness or strength, cobalt behaves like the rest of this page. The warranty covers the ring failing, not the ring changing, and the exchange window is the sizing policy.

Sizing and Returns at This Budget

On four of these five rings a size change means a different ring arriving in the post. The terms are therefore worth more attention than the prices, and they vary more.

SellerReturn window, as the seller states itSize exchangeThe part to read twice
Northern RoyalFull refund within 90 daysFree size exchange for 120 daysAfter 120 days a fee, stated two different ways on two of its own pages
Groove LifeAny product within 30 daysFree exchanges in the first 30 days, shipping to you paidCoating that wears down over time is charged at half retail plus shipping

Blue NileReturns advertised as hassle-free; an archived copy of the returns page gives 30 days from shipmentOne free resize within six months of purchase on eligible rings (read 22 October 2026)Free resizing only for rings not previously resized

Measure Before, Not After

Because the size is effectively permanent, the measurement is the purchase. Measure at the end of the day, more than once, and with the width you intend to buy in mind, because a wide band sits tighter than a narrow one at the same stated size. Our printable ring sizer is free to use, and the ring size conversion chart handles a measurement taken in another system.

Engraving Ends Most of These Options

Engraving is where a return window closes at almost every seller in this bracket, and Larson excludes re-engraving from its lifetime sizing cover explicitly. The order that costs nothing extra is to buy the ring plain, confirm the fit at home inside the window, and engrave afterwards. Our wedding ring engraving ideas cover what physically fits inside a band of each width.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Are Some Good Wedding Rings for Under $200?

Five we priced on 20 September 2026: Northern Royal’s Carbon Black ceramic and Larson’s GEMINI tungsten with a sterling silver inlay, both from $119; Larson’s KOBOLD cobalt chrome and Groove Life’s beveled titanium, both under $150; and Blue Nile’s slimmest 14K white gold classic, just under the ceiling on sale.

How Much Should a Wedding Band Cost?

There is no correct figure, and we will not invent an average. The one dated market number we hold is from 2019, when National Jeweler, reporting The Knot 2019 Jewelry and Engagement Study, put the average men’s band at five hundred and ten dollars and women’s bands at eleven hundred. For listed prices by metal across more sellers, see how much a wedding band costs.

Where Is the Cheapest Place to Get Wedding Bands?

No seller earns that title from us without a dated, like-for-like comparison across the market, and we have not run one. What we can say is what to check: whether the price shown is a sale price, whether the listed width is the one being priced, and whether the ring is marked while supplies last before you rely on exchanging it.

What Is a Normal Budget for a Wedding Ring?

Higher than this bracket on the only survey figures we hold, which are from 2019 and cover bands rather than complete rings. This page is deliberately below the middle of that market. If the budget is genuinely larger, the picture at several thousand dollars is set out in our guide to wedding rings by budget.
