This Manly Bands review answers the question most people type after the name: is Manly Bands legit? It is a real company. Manly Bands, LLC is a Utah maker of men’s wedding bands, in business since 2016, with published prices, a 30-day return window and a lifetime warranty on manufacturing defects, and most of its Trustpilot reviewers are happy. Its record also has weak points that its own pages do not mention: a D- rating from the Better Business Bureau, one exchange and no more, rings in tungsten and titanium that cannot be resized, and a federal copyright case brought by another Utah ring maker that was still open on 18 September 2026. Every policy, price, rating and court filing below was opened that day.

How we researched. Nothing here was bought, tested or sent to us: it is researched, not tested.

Our verdict: a real Utah maker, with one exchange and a weak complaint record

Manly Bands

by Manly Bands

Best for: A buyer who wants an unusual inlay or licensed design, knows his size, and has at least two months before the wedding.

Manly Bands, LLC sells in its own name from Utah; the BBB rates it D- and not accredited, and its tungsten, titanium and ceramic rings cannot be resized, so the 30-day exchange is the only size fix.

What we like

  • Publishes prices on every ring, from 40-dollar silicone to solid gold and platinum
  • 30 days from delivery to return for a refund, with free standard shipping in the US
  • Lifetime warranty on manufacturing defects, with a claims portal

Keep in mind

  • Only one exchange, and a return or an exchange, not both
  • Engraved rings are final sale on its returns page
  • BBB rating of D-, which the BBB puts down to 9 complaints it did not respond to

Who Manly Bands Is

Manly Bands’ About page tells a founders’ story: John and Michelle started the company after a bad experience buying John’s wedding band, founded it in Florida in 2016, and later moved to Utah. The same page says many of its rings are “handcrafted by our amazing staff” in Lindon, Utah, and that production uses “a combination of domestic and international production partners depending on the ring style and material”. It has one showroom, at its office in Lindon.

The BBB profile adds the legal details. Manly Bands, LLC was incorporated on 4 November 2016, lists Marshall Smith as president, and gives an address in Orem, Utah. A 2023 court complaint against the company names Johnathan Ruggiero and Michelle Luchese as its co-founders and co-CEOs.

What It Sells, and What the Metal Is

A men's band with a reddish wood inlay between silver edges, stacked with a band carrying a Celtic knot pattern, resting on moss and gray stone

Manly Bands sells men’s bands in tungsten, titanium, black ceramic, silicone, gold and platinum, and much of the catalog carries an inlay: wood, whiskey barrel wood, meteorite, dinosaur bone, or material from licensed brands such as Jeep and Jack Daniel’s. Its build-your-own bands let you pick the metal, width and finish. A few lines on its product pages deserve a careful read.

Gold-Colored Is Not Always Gold

Its yellow gold collection mixes solid gold with plated tungsten. The CEO, listed there, is described on its own page as “14k Yellow Gold Plated Tungsten”; The Knight, on the same list, is solid 10k or 14k gold. The warranty says plating “will wear over time”. Our guide to black and colored bands explains why a coating wears where solid color does not.

Nickel: Read the Page for Your Ring

The Baller, a black tungsten band, says its tungsten carbide is “cobalt-free” and, in the next sentence, “Our tungsten is NOT nickel-free.” The Maverick, a titanium band, says titanium “contains no nickel”. The gray tungsten build-your-own page we read says nothing about nickel either way. If you react to nickel, ask in writing before ordering, or start from our hypoallergenic wedding bands comparison.

A Scratch Claim That Contradicts Its Warranty

Its platinum build-your-own page carries a line that “tungsten doesn’t scratch”. Its warranty says tungsten is “scratch resistant but not scratch proof” and that scratches are normal wear, not covered. The warranty is the text that binds.

What Can and Cannot Be Resized

Its Find My Size page answers this with a table, reduced here to the answer:

One Exchange, Then You Are Done

The exchange is the only fix for a wrong size on most of its catalog, and it happens once. Manly Bands tells buyers to check their size with its plastic sizer before using it, “as we offer only one exchange.” If the second ring is also wrong, the policy has no third step. On gold and platinum rings, an exchange may also cost the difference if metal prices have moved.

Engraving: Two Pages, Two Rules

The returns page says engraved rings cannot be returned or exchanged. The product pages we read, including The Maverick and the titanium build-your-own band, say engraved rings are final sale “but we’ll let you exchange it once within 30 days” for a fee of 30 dollars. Engraving adds 25 dollars. If you are unsure of the size, order the ring plain, as the returns page itself advises, and engrave later.

Order Protection and the Return Fee

The returns page names one paid add-on, Redo package protection. Without it, a return for a refund carries a return shipping fee; with it, the protection charge itself is not refunded. The page gives neither price, and we did not go through checkout to see one. One Trustpilot reviewer wrote of paying 18 dollars for “easy returns”; another saw about 55 dollars added at checkout, which Manly Bands, replying, called its Redo Order Protection, an optional service that can be removed before the order ships.

Warranty: Defects Only

The lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects and nothing about loss, theft or a change in finger size. Rings with gold, platinum, silver, meteorite or stones must be sent back for a claim, repair by anyone else voids the warranty, and silicone rings get one year. Loss and theft need separate insurance.

A banner that day offered “25% off Most Popular Styles” with a code, excluding precious metal rings and requiring a 150-dollar minimum. Its discounts are the subject of one of the lawsuits described below. If money is tight, our cheap men’s wedding bands comparison sets several sellers’ return and sizing terms side by side.

What Customers Say, Counted

We read Manly Bands’ Trustpilot and BBB profiles on 18 September 2026, and all 68 of its one- and two-star Trustpilot reviews.

What the 68 Low Trustpilot Reviews Are About

We sorted each one-star and two-star review by its main complaint. The reviews run from August 2022 to September 2026.

Main complaintReviews
The ring broke, scratched, lost its plating or its inlay, or arrived damaged19
Late delivery, orders not shipped, no updates18
Fit, the one-exchange limit, return fees and refunds17
Not as pictured, or sold cheaper elsewhere, per the reviewer7
Could not reach a person3
Marketing emails2
A review not published on its site1
A discount code missed at checkout1

Three patterns stand out. Seven reviews describe an inlay coming apart, breaking or discoloring, among them wood, whiskey barrel and abalone shell, which our guide to men’s wedding band styles treats as the risk an inlay brings. Six say the ring did not fit after following its sizer or its sizing advice. And four reviewers wrote that a critical review they left on the Manly Bands site never appeared, so read its on-site average as the brand’s own collection, not an independent count. On the other side, Trustpilot’s own summary of recent reviews says buyers praise the unique styles and the prices.

The BBB Record

The rating is the part to weigh. The BBB lists 9 complaints in three years and gives the company’s failure to respond to 9 of them as the reason for the D-. All five complaints published on the page are marked “Unanswered”; the most recent, dated 30 August 2026, says a ring ordered on 11 June had not shipped and the phone number did not work. On Trustpilot in August 2026, Manly Bands wrote about its phone lines: “I made the call to turn them off in early June,” adding that it was rebuilding them.

The Lawsuits on File

We searched the federal court dockets on CourtListener and opened each filing we cite. A complaint is one side’s allegations, not a finding.

We did not find a court ruling against Manly Bands on the merits in any of the three.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Manly Bands a Reputable Company?

It is a real, established company, but not a spotless one. Manly Bands, LLC has sold men’s bands from Utah since 2016 and scores 4.1 on Trustpilot. Against that, the BBB rates it D- for leaving complaints unanswered, and 23% of its Trustpilot reviews are one star, mostly about quality, delays and fit.

What Are the Allegations in the Manly Bands Lawsuit?

The open case is Lashbrook’s, in federal court in Utah since December 2023: it alleges copied ring designs and product photos with watermarks stripped, and it was paused for settlement talks in May 2026. Two California class actions, over never-ending sales and early-morning marketing texts, were voluntarily dismissed without a ruling.

Are Ridge or Manly Bands Better?

We cannot rank them, because Ridge’s site blocked our US server on 18 September 2026 and we compare only pages we read. On Manly Bands’ side, you get 30 days to return or exchange once, a lifetime defects warranty and no resizing on tungsten or titanium. Ask Ridge the same three questions before choosing.

Are Manly Bands or Gentlebands Better?

On Trustpilot, Manly Bands rates higher: 4.1 from 243 reviews, against 3.3 from 263 for gentlebands.com, whose one-star share was 42% on 18 September 2026. The gentlebands site blocked our US server that day, so we did not compare its return, sizing or warranty terms, which matter more than a score.

Do Manly Bands Run True to Size?

Manly Bands does not promise that they do. Its sizing page tells buyers between sizes to size down for standard fit and up for comfort fit, and six of its 68 low Trustpilot reviews say a ring did not fit after following its advice. With one exchange, measure with a plastic sizer first.
